Help Stopping Headaches

By: Michael Byrd

Millions are looking for natural ways to get rid of their headaches.

The number of migraine victims is astronomical. In fact, more than 25,000,000 people will have a migraine at one time or another. However, there are natural ways to relieve migraines and bring you both instant comfort and permanent relief.

What are you currently doing to relieve the pain? Aside from vomiting and taking dangerous pain killer drugs, the only alternative most people know about is finding a cool, dark place to lay down and suffer it out. And that’s about it.

Anyone who suffers from migraine headaches knows what I’m talking about.

If you'd like some new suggestions on how to handle these painful headaches, please read on.

Now this is not written in stone, but it seems like most migraines are caused by stress, tension, food triggers, medications or glandular imbalances. Isolating and removing the triggers from your life will will help you to prevent future headaches.

Another thing you can do to reduce your risk of migraines is to improve the quality of the foods you're eating. Your goal is to remove all of the processed foods and replace them with good natural whole foods.

What kinds of foods am I talking about? A whole food diet starts with the basics of brown rice, whole wheat and natural soy. Don’t be fooled by white rice, enriched wheat, and GMO soy. Essentially, these refined and altered foods offer you only empty calories and no nutrition value.

A whole food diet also includes daily servings of colorful fruits and veggies.

This doesn’t include things like fruit juices or fruit roll-ups, which are all sugar, or iceberg lettuce, potatoes, bananas or apples. And, although they’re good for other things, they contain little to no beneficial phytonutrients like carotenoids, flavonoids or cruciferous compounds.

Your whole food diet should also include low fat dairy (like yogurt and cheese), free range eggs, lean chicken and fatty fish.

Oily cold water fish like salmon, tuna, mackerel, sardines and anchovies are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, which have been proven to help decrease the pain and frequency of migraine headaches, no matter what the cause.

If you can't manage to get 3-5 servings of fatty fish a week, you need to include a pure fish oil supplement to your daily routine.

Studies show that the omega 3 fatty acids from fish oil have amazing natural anti-inflammatory properties. And taking fish oil supplements on a regular basis works wonders for cutting down and eliminating headaches.

Some have even found taking several capsules at the first indication of a migraine actually minimizes or prevents it from happening.

So get yourself on a whole food diet that includes plenty of fatty fish or a fish oil supplement and you'll be amazed at how good you feel. Migraines will be a thing of the past!
